Why give to MCLA
Mantle cell lymphoma is rare, aggressive, and underfunded. Your gift goes further here than it would almost anywhere else.
The only nonprofit in the world dedicated exclusively to MCL.
MCL is a rare blood cancer without its own dedicated advocacy organization. The MCLA was formed to fill that gap. 100% of our focus, funding, and community is built around mantle cell lymphoma and nothing else.
100% volunteer-run.
We have no paid staff. Operating expenses are negligible, which means the overwhelming majority of every dollar you give goes directly to programs that serve patients, caregivers, and researchers.
Led by patients and caregivers.
Our entire Board is composed of MCL patients and MCL caregivers. The people deciding where MCLA's resources go are the same people living the disease โ which keeps the work honest and the priorities right.
Guided by the world's leading MCL scientists.
Our Scientific Advisory Board, which will be announced in June 2026, brings together the world's top mantle cell lymphoma researchers and clinicians. They review our research priorities to make sure we're funding what's most likely to move the field forward.
A U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity.
Contributions to MCLA are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is 41-4216382.
We focus on funding research that could lead to a cure.
We focus on the science that struggles to get funded elsewhere: the core biology of mantle cell lymphoma โ the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive the disease. Understanding that biology is how entirely new classes of treatment get discovered. It's slower, harder work than testing existing drugs, but it's the work that is most likely to move the needle in MCL treatment.
Most donors can now claim a deduction for gifts to the Mantle Cell Lymphoma Alliance Foundation โ even when taking the standard deduction. That could mean up to $1,000 in savings for individuals or $2,000 for couples filing jointly. This applies to cash gifts made directly to MCLA.
Subject to IRS rules and individual circumstances. Consult your tax advisor for details.

Planned Giving & Bequests
A gift in your will or estate plan is one of the most powerful ways to create a lasting legacy for MCL patients and families.
Leave a Legacy Gift Estate Planning
A bequest to MCLA โ a gift made through your will or living trust โ costs you nothing during your lifetime and can reduce your taxable estate. It takes only a simple clause added or amended to your existing plan.
The most common approaches:
- Specific bequest โ leave a fixed dollar amount or named asset
- Residuary bequest โ leave all or a percentage of what remains after other gifts
- Contingent bequest โ MCLA receives the gift if primary beneficiaries predecease you
- Beneficiary designation โ name MCLA as beneficiary on an IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy (often the most tax-efficient planned gift)
"I give, devise, and bequeath to the Mantle Cell Lymphoma Alliance Foundation, a Delaware nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN: 41-4216382), located at 2810 N. Church Street, PMB 658002, Wilmington, DE 19802, the sum of $________ [or: ____% of the residue of my estate] to be used for its general charitable purposes."
"I give, devise, and bequeath ____% of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to the Mantle Cell Lymphoma Alliance Foundation (EIN: 41-4216382), for its general charitable purposes."
We encourage you to work with a qualified estate planning attorney. MCLA does not provide legal or tax advice, but we are happy to provide any documentation your attorney needs.
